PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Up to one week before their scheduled peel, patients can continue their daily skincare routine involving retinoids. However, stopping using these products seven days before the peel is essential. During this period, they should also avoid laser procedures, dermaplaning, and abrasive exfoliants.
Patients are encouraged not to use skincare products containing retinoids or glycolic acid for the ten days following the peel. After this period, they may return to their usual skincare regimen.
Injectables
UA regimen combining peels with injectable therapies can yield significant anti-aging benefits, especially for those seeking alternatives to surgical methods. The Perfect Derma Peel session can include the administration of injectables like neurotoxins or fillers, with the recommendation to apply the peel beforehand.
Laser Treatments:
Patients should wait at least four weeks after undergoing a peel before receiving any laser treatments. Similarly, if they have had a laser treatment, they should wait four weeks before getting a peel, depending on how intensive the laser treatment was.
Hydra Facial
A Hydra Facial is best scheduled two weeks after a peel. Conversely, if a patient has recently had a Hydra Facial, they should wait at least a week before undergoing a peel.
Micro Needling
Maintaining a four-week gap between a peel and any micro-needling sessions is recommended.
Patients should avoid intense physical activities, sauna visits, or excessive sweating throughout peeling. It’s crucial not to remove peeling skin manually; let it shed naturally to prevent scarring. If there is loose peeling skin, it should be clipped off with brow clippers rather than pulled or picked, which can lead to scarring and skin damage. The treated area should be gently washed and patted dry twice daily, applying the provided lotion as needed. To protect the skin, minimize sun exposure, use sunscreen with SPF 30 multiple times daily, and wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors. Makeup should not be applied while the skin is peeling.
Sculptra /Radiesse
Sculptra, a collagen-stimulating biostimulator, is meticulously injected into specific facial areas needing rejuvenation. Ideal for those desiring skin tightening and a more youthful appearance, Sculptra gradually unveils natural-looking results over several weeks. Typically, a series of three Sculptra treatments, spaced 5-6 weeks apart, is recommended, with effects lasting up to 2.5 years.
With Sculptra treatments, experience a 63% boost in your natural collagen production and regain a youthful complexion. Notably, 95% of patients reported enhanced skin radiance two years following their Sculptra sessions. Radiesse offers immediate contouring benefits and stimulates collagen and elastin production for long-term improvements. It’s also effectively used to correct volume loss in the back of the hands.
PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Ensure you hydrate well by drinking ample water on the day of your procedure and continue for the following 2-3 days. This aids in enhancing the collagen-boosting effects of your treatment.
- Refrain from taking aspirin and ibuprofen as they can increase bleeding and lead to more bruising. However, do not cease prescribed blood thinners unless advised by your healthcare provider.
- For one week, avoid dietary supplements like fish oil, vitamin C, glucosamine, and vitamins B and E, as they can thin the blood and potentially worsen bruising. Consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing any supplements they have recommended.
- Steer clear of alcohol, caffeine, hot beverages, physical activity, sunbathing, steam rooms, saunas, and spicy foods for 24 hours to minimize the risk of bruising.
- Refrain from using skincare products containing active ingredients such as Glycolic Acid, Vitamins A and C, and Salicylic Acid, and avoid applying soaps and perfumes to the treated area for 24 hours.
- Use cold compresses to help reduce bruising and swelling. During the initial 24 hours post-treatment, apply a cloth-covered cold pack to the treated area intermittently.
- Consider using Arnica tablets or cream to lessen bruising.
- Post-treatment, you may notice redness, swelling, and sensitivity in the treated areas for 24-48 hours. These symptoms are typical and should subside within 2-4 days.
- Be aware that bruising at the injection site is a possibility.
- Swelling and bruising may temporarily create an uneven appearance in the treated area, which will normalize once these symptoms subside.
